Did you know that our sense of smell has a powerful influence on us? Different scents can change our mood or transport us back to distant memories. Our sense of smell dramatically affects our experience, so eliminating any smells that could negatively impact your customers' experience is essential.

To help you with this, we've gathered some tips from fellow beauty entrepreneurs on what to avoid and the lifesaving products they swear by!

Refrain from eating in the studio or at your workstation

The lingering smell of food can have an immediate negative impact on their experience. Instead, designate a separate area for meals or take breaks outside of the studio to maintain a fresh and inviting atmosphere.

Avoid Strong Flavoured Food and Restaurants

To prepare for an appointment, avoid intensely flavoured foods and smoke-filled restaurants. If you must dine in a smoky establishment, be sure to change your clothes before the appointment.

No smoking before appointments

If necessary, please use a cigarette holder and rinse your mouth thoroughly afterwards.

Avoid Strong Perfume

Scent preference is highly subjective. Overpowering perfume can suffocate your client rather than create a soothing experience.

Mouthwash

Using mouthwash is one of the simplest and most effective ways to freshen up your breath. It can also help remove any food debris that may be left in your mouth after eating.

Wear a Mask

Thanks to the pandemic, we now understand the importance and benefits of wearing a mask. Your clients will definitely feel more at ease, and wearing a mask can help block any unpleasant breaths!

Essential Oils

Applying soothing essential oils to your wrists can help customers relax. Lavender, chamomile, and clary sage are good recommendations!
